Every dictionary has a nice pronunciation key to help us out. Anyone know the names for these symbols?
The alphabet that tells us how to pronounce words is the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). "Diacritics" are the symbols that appear above various letters in the IPA.
Reply:well the symbols, which represent sounds are called phonemes or phones. the other symbols indicate stress and are called stress marks

I go to www.dictionary.com/translate and im trying to get my name in chinese, but i cant, just read my details

They give you an option for your name, such as whether you want a name based on beauty, wealth, knowledge etc. All you have to do is enter your full name and gender and it creates it for you.
I did mine ages ago and it came out as Mao Kang Ren, which I now use whenever I talk to a Chinese exchange student.
Hope you enjoy your new name!
Be aware though, that your name will change every time you do it as different words have different meanings, so play around with it until you're happy.

This is for XP. Hope this helps.

Btw, what is the name that you want translated to Chinese? I can help you with that. Write me an email.
Reply:Names cannot be translated to some other language, especially not Chinese. Languages similar to English have many times names that are same or resemble some names in English, but to translate a name, especially a name of a language that has no roots in the English language is just not possible.

Can you a name one word in the english language or dictionary that rhymes with ???
well this is not one word.. but not one word rhymes with orange. But this rhymes anyways : door hinge.
Reply:using "slant rhyme", you can use lozenge, boring, forage, porridge, door-hinge, score bench
Reply:Well general consensus is that there isn't a word that rhymes properly with orange, one of the few words in the english language that this happens to.
Reply:Orange does not perfectly rhyme with anything.
Purple doesn't either
Reply:storage
porridge
Reply:There's not a single word in the language or dictionary that is a perfect rhyme with "orange." Sorry. :-(
Hope this helps, though! Any more questions, feel free to ask away! Good luck! ;-)
Reply:door hinge
(near rhyme)
Reply:Orange is one of those words that famously has nothing perfectly to rhyme with it. The other one is silver. However, the Oxford Rhyming Dictionary does show both these words as having half-rhymes (such as lozenge with orange and salver with silver).
Reply:You wasted 5 points on this question?
Reply:this is such a stupid question.
NOTHING ryhmes w/ ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Flange. There is a flange on my orange.
Reply:I'll see your orange and raise you purple.
Reply:Orange is not an English word by 'origin'! Pun intended!
The word is possibly ultimately from Dravidian, a family of languages spoken in southern India and northern Sri Lanka. The Dravidian word or words were adopted into the Indo-European language Sanskrit with the form n膩ra[ndot]gah蹋.
Reply:Door hinge
Syringe
Reply:Nothing directly rhymes with orange... there are some indirect ones.
Reply:(Almost) Porridge and borrage
Reply:according to AskOxford.com there are no words that rhyme with orange...or silver for that matter.....
Reply:thats wierd because im watching a show and they were just talking about it... the boy said "door hinge" but i cant think of any words myself
oh my gosh were we all watching Drake and Josh at the same time???
Reply:STORAGE, PORAGE, ARRANGE
Reply:There also is nothing that rhymes with purple... but If I ever come across a time when I need to make up words to be in the dictionary it will be Borange and Snurple.
Reply:there isn't one.
Reply:I wrote a poem with orange in it. I ended up using storage. They sound close enough.
Reply:xylophone.

Reply:I thought I saw one of those things where it has weird facts that says no word in the English language rhymes with orange.
Reply:%26gt;orange is included on the exception, that some english words dont have word to rhyme with them.
